Dr Matthew Barton
Consultant Psychiatrist
MBBS, BEng (Hons), PhD, FRANZCP
Dr Barton is a warm and caring Psychiatrist who provides evidence-based mental healthcare using a holistic and collaborative approach. Trained in Sydney and he has worked in the mental health space for over 10 years. He holds degrees in medicine and mechatronic engineering, and a PhD in functional brain imaging, from The University of Sydney.
He has a wide range of clinical interests including:
Away from the clinic Dr Barton is involved in research and environmental advocacy. He is currently a research fellow at The Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research where he investigates the impact of heatwaves on mental health. Dr Barton is also an active member of Doctors for the Environment Australia through which he is involved in advocating for strong action on climate change to improve physical and mental health.
